Anjo World marks 4 years of fun, family weekend getaway

MINGLANILLA, Cebu -- Anjo World Theme Park celebrates its 4th year anniversary this year as a “happy place” for fun, family weekend getaway and venue for various events in Cebu and in the Visayas regions.

“The theme park has become not just a family weekend getaway but is now a venue for various events and we continue to create more games and new approaches and business partnerships to make Anjo World a dynamic and engaging destination for people, families and groups,” Chester Lim, Anjo World President said in a press conference, Sunday, November 26 to mark its 4th year anniversary.

Cedric Reyes, Head of Sales, Marketing and Press Relations added that Anjo World continues to be the preferred venue for various events, such as corporate functions, family activities, and school tours, among others.

Anjo World is set to host a cosplay competition that is expected to attract numerous enthusiasts in collaboration with Fourplay Cosplay.  The competition categories cater to participants of all ages, with contests for kids up to 12 years old; teens 13 and above; and adults 18 and above in both cloth and armor divisions.  The lineup includes a Kiddie Chibi Cosplay, as well as a Kids and Teens Prince and Princesses contest.

According to Reyes, the anniversary celebration this year welcomes the presence of an impressive 8-meter inflatable Santa Claus, the largest of its kind in the country to herald Christmas festivities inside the park.  The celebration's highlight is a grand fireworks display illuminating the night sky at 7 p.m. on November 26.

Anjo World’s corporate commitments and partnerships

Anjo World's commitment to community outreach remains strong, as it hosts 400 children from various orphanages every anniversary year, a tradition from past anniversary celebrations.   These children belong to the Hope Mountain Foundation, Children's Joy Foundation, Child Development Center, Bukas Palad Foundation Philippines Accessible Disability Services- Adaptive Dragon Boat Racing Team (PADS-ADT), Missionaries of the Charity and Gift of Love.

The opening of Travel Bee Minglanilla Inn in August this year, located at Belmont One is a boost for Anjo World. Both parties signed memorandum of agreement for promos and discount packages for guests of the theme park.

Travel Bee offers 30 rooms with 100 beds that provide accommodations in three categories: Standard Hive Twin, Family Hive, and Superior Hive. Situated just across the theme park, the Inn is expected to attract balikbayans, expats, and potentially international tourists, especially with the anticipated return of Japanese and Korean visitors next year, Reyes noted.

Meanwhile, the theme park has also introduced five new arcade games at the Funtastic Arena, further diversifying its offerings.  Anjo World also partnered with Cebu2World Development Corporation to launch Game Central at the Carbon Barracks in Cebu City.

Lim explained that Game Central provides a wide range of classic and innovative games, appealing to various preferences with skill-based challenges and luck-oriented activities. It will continue to operate until the end of February 2024.

This is a new business model and that Anjo World is looking at the possible opening of a similar facility in Cebu, especially that the Park is open to hosting a variety of events, including corporate functions, family activities, and school tours. (Photos: MBCNewman)
