Maboy's Food House reopens bigger space, specializes home cooked Filipino meals

CEBU CITY -- Maboy's Food House, popular for its specialized home-cooked Filipino dishes, reopened its restaurant in a larger space near its original location at MiƱoza Street, North Agora in Talamban Cebu City for more convenience of its growing community of patrons.

“Curbside pickup has become a great feature for busy customers.  You can call ahead, and we’ll bring the food right to your car, saving time and making the experience more hassle-free.  This is particularly beneficial in an age where convenience is key allowing customers to enjoy Maboy’s delicious meals without stepping out of their vehicles,” owner, Joli Lacson said of its new location.

Maboy’s is known for its marinated barbecues and comforting classics which the restaurant continues to offer with the warmth and flavor of homemade dishes. The expansion reflects its commitment to bringing hearty, home-style cooking to customers who crave the familiar taste of a well-prepared meals at home.

“All our meats are marinated using a secret recipe that sets them apart from the usual offerings, we never expected it to be such a hit. It’s simple food but prepared with so much care and attention,” Lacson explained.  

The unique flavors have made their dishes stand out, appealing to those looking for familiar yet elevated comfort food. The menu features beloved classics like dinuguan, chicharon bulaklak and kinilaw, Lacson added.


In addition to offering dine-in services, Maboy's continues to thrive in the food delivery space. During the pandemic, delivery platforms played a crucial role in keeping the business afloat. While the pandemic brought significant challenges, it also forced Maboy's to adapt to customer needs. Currently, delivery remains a big part of the business.

Maboy’s new outlet boasts a capacity of 70 people, including outdoor seating, making it ideal for larger groups and private functions. The restaurant has expanded into catering and exclusive event bookings, serving anything from birthdays to family gatherings.

Despite the growth, Maboy’s Food House remains committed to its local roots, using locally sourced and fresh ingredients in support of local producers.

The move to the larger location also signifies a new chapter for Maboy's as they plan to introduce new menu items and seasonal specialties. It incorporates changes in the menu every six months, adding new dishes based on customer feedback and testing new ideas.
