Sen. Imee oversees distribution of cash aid to farmers, victims of fire in W.Visayas

CEBU CITY – Some 7,000 beneficiaries from Western Visayas composed of farmers from Aklan and victims of fire from Iloilo City received cash aid with the supervision of Senator Imee Marcos.

Senator Marcos flew to the Western Visayas region on February 4 to supervise the distribution of the cash aid worth P35 Million to the farmer beneficiaries in Aklan at the Augusto Legazpi Sports and Cultural Complex in Aklan’s capital, Kalibo.

Each farmer received P5,000. Marcos recommended that farmers nationwide should be given financial assistance until 2024. The fund was sourced out from tariffs collected from the implementation of the Rice Tariffication Law (RTL) also known as Republic Act 11203.

The senator also supervised the distribution of some three million pesos to victims of a fire last January 28 in barangays Habog and San Juan in Iloilo City, with 300 families to receive Php10,000 each. (Photos: Sen. Imee's Office)
