ARGAO, Cebu -- The Department of Health Central
Visayas Center for Health Development (DOH-CVCHD) with its different bureaus on
health and nutrition conducted a 4-day training on Nutrition in Emergencies
(NIE-IM) to the 35 personnel from Argao Rural Health Units, March 4-7 at the COWASCO
Building, Argao, Cebu.
DOH-CVCHD said, the NIE-IM training aims to equip
and empower the health workers/personnel of the Argao Rural Health Units with
skills on NIE-IM to enable them to devise strategic measures for preparedness
and response, aiding them in responsive and sound decision-making, aligned with
the health department’s Action Agenda #4--Ready for health crises and
emergencies.
NIE-IM training consisted of didactic sessions
and workshops, topics including Philippine Disaster Risk Reduction and
Management in Health (DRRMH) Cluster Approach; NIE Interventions; DRRMH and
Nutrition Program Management (NPM) Planning Process; Risk Communication,
Nutrition Promotion and Information Management Tools.
The NIE-IM training was conducted with the
participation of the Regional Health Emergency Services (RHES), the Nutrition
Program of Family Health (NPFH) Section and the National Nutrition Council
(NNC) Region-7 and in partnership with the Municipal Government of Argao, Cebu.
