Vegging Out Episode 2: King Crab Capital Seafoods Restaurant

 King Crab Capital Seafoods Restaurant

4. My search for vegan/pescatarian dishes for now led me to Zone II, Upper Riverside, Jose Rizal St., Talisay City where the King Crab Capital Seafoods Restaurant is located.  The restaurant is owned and managed by Anthony Renz Esplana, who is also into the seafoods import/export business.

King Crab Capital opened in October 2022 and since then, the restaurant is a favorite hangout of seafood lovers from all over the country because King Crab Capital offers the freshest crabs, mud crabs, lobsters, shrimps and prawns, fish and other seafood items.

In a conversation with Renz at his cozy, green restaurant, he describes his restaurant’s design as a place to dine comfortably using your hands, with the Bahay Kubo ambiance, entertainment and adventures.

“Eating crabs or shrimps or lobsters require bare hands and you come here with your authentic Filipino hands eating style and no one looks with disdain,” Renzy told this writer.

He said, his market strategy is via Facebook, King Crab Capital’s FB page has nearly 20,000 followers.  Why Talisay? He revealed that Talisay is actually considered as the crab capital of Cebu.

Here are some of the most delectable and popular crab dishes at the King Crab Capital Seafoods Restaurant, priced at P1,800/kilo, one can have his/her fill of crabs, or prawns, lobsters and all other seafoods:

                                      Singaporean creamy chili crabs

Creamy buttered garlic crabs

Black Pepper Crabs
Buttered garlic crabs

I’m still on the look-out of more creative vegan/pescatarian dishes in Cebu City as more people are into healthy lifestyle and some with plant-based meals advocacy to assist the planet in decreasing its carbon footprint.
